***UPDATE***
One thing I forgot to mention... The version of Windows 7 used in the tests was a Pre-Official Release version so keep that in mind as well.
The Geek's Paradise is the place to be for all things "geek". General geek info, product reviews, rants, gadgets, and other geeky randomness.
Hmm well I haven't had any experience with Linux, so i'ma stick to my guns with Windows 7!
ReplyDelete-Bear
I use windows 7 and it's great.
ReplyDeleteEh, performance is kind of biased towards Linux if you ask me. Of course it's going to perform better, it doesn't have the massive GUI eating up memory.
ReplyDeleteNot going to hate on Linux, though, it definitely has its place.
great article, thanks man
ReplyDeleteI know its cool to say linux, but its windows all the way. Hard to beat all those development dollars.
ReplyDeletehmmmm nice info thanks for this man
ReplyDeletelooking forward to more in the future keep it up
cya mate
I am currently using Windows 7, it's really good, but would have to say Linux RULES...
ReplyDeleteNice article, thank you.
ReplyDeletethe greatest blog ever
ReplyDeletesupp mate
Windows 7 ftw :D
ReplyDeleteSupp
10.04 LTS for the win....
ReplyDeleteI should be upgrading to Windows 7. Still running on a 2/3 year Old vista laptop which is about to die... :S
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm using mac for every day using, w7 for gaming and linux for webservers, every OS has his own good things.
ReplyDeleteI have the opp. to use Windows XP/Vista/7 - and 7 will do it on this front. I also use GNU/Linux (name a distro and I have it running - either native or in a virtual machine somewhere in my 'little farm'). I also have a MacBook Pro.
ReplyDeleteIn saying all of this, I love Linux. I could not do what I do without it. And yet, and everyone can hit me with it, I love my Mac.
Verdict from me: Windows 6/10 - Mac 9/10 - Linux 9.5/10...
Nice article. Bear, you should try it.
ReplyDeleteBeen using win7 for a while now. Nice article!
ReplyDeletewin7 is great. But i cant say anything bad about linux.

ReplyDeleteStill riding on XP here.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Airmac. I just got things nice and flowing after mucking about with XP.
ReplyDeleteNot that I am not open to other platforms...just got used to things.
im still using vista :P
ReplyDeleteStill on XP. XP now following.
ReplyDeleteWindows XP ftw
ReplyDeleteCompatibility > Accessibility.
ReplyDeleteI'd switch to 7 if my computer could handle it. I could bump up to Vista from XP but Vista is a joke.
ReplyDeleteI have been using windows7 since beta and it has never failed me! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great article.

Good review. As it was written by Linux users, I think it was quite a fair review.
ReplyDeleteI still love XP, to be honest, but am currently running Vista. I know-I should be ashamed, but it does the job I need it to :/
ReplyDeleteI've had no problems with 7, just as I had no problems with Vista. I have issues with both, but I feel a lot of it was just anti-Microsoft sentiment. But Slackware forever!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently running Windows 7, but I have a spare computer that I could instal a Linux on. Would you care to make posts explaining how Linux is used, aimed at the beginners?
ReplyDeleteAmidst All Human This is my blog, about religion and science and stuff! ^^
I have Windows 7 and I absolutely love it. I got it through my college for free and I have had zero problems with it. Granted i've never used Linux, seems like a lot of work for not a huge benefit, so i can't really compare to two.
ReplyDeleteWindows 7 has really hurt Linux.
